Policy dialogue takes place predominantly between the EU, climate-change-vulnerable Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and regional institutions. The main focus of this dialogue is on countries’ efforts to initiate and take forward National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and related national policies, including the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) stemming from the UNFCCC COP21 Paris Agreement.
The EU GCCA+ initiative aims at supporting informed and constructive policy dialogue by:
- Fostering dialogue and exchanging experiences at global, national and regional levels;
- Promoting a shared vision on climate change issues;
- Helping developing countries to have their voices heard in international negotiations; and
- Feeding results into UNFCCC and other international discussions.
